Mostly only drink tea while I’m sick. I drink coffee every day getting up with my wife, but I’d rarely drink it on my own.

A few weeks ago my wife went out of town for a long weekend and I had the most persistent headache that wouldn’t go away. When she came back, it went away as soon as I started drinking coffee with her and I realized it was caffeine withdrawal. I hate being physically dependent on coffee, but it’s a big part of our morning ritual.

I love America. I’m rather less fond of some of the people in it. The land is beautiful and varied. There is so much space here. And the constitution is really special, I think, though not perfect. The biggest flaw is people haven’t been taking politics seriously and have elected unserious people.

I swore to defend it many years ago. At the time I was a kid just paying lip service to a required oath, swearing to a god I never believed in, but the truth is I do love it and I would fight for it, warts and all.

My ring used to do that shit. I stopped using it for like a year. Then I was bitching about it and someone said they just got one and it worked great. So I tried it again out of spite to show what a piece of shit it was and now it works within a couple of seconds. shrug

I fucked up a lot of potential relationships by being too horny, and a lot of potentially fun hookups by being too serious. But it all worked out in the end.

Admitting you’re a pedo isn’t a good look. Fortunately you don’t matter one bit to me. All your anger, rage, jokes, whatever - none of it is worth anything.

Well he specified static website, which rules out WP, but yes. If your host accepts posts (in the generic sense, not necessarily specifically the http verb POST) that raises tons of other questions, that frankly were already well addressed when I made my post.

DDoS and hacking are like taxes: you should be so lucky as to have to worry about them, because that means you’re wildly successful. Worry about getting there first because that’s the hard part.

The way I’ve dealt with this before is reference the ticket number in the commit message. Now the only tickets you ever need to review are the ones relevant to the element in question, and only those creating or modifying that particular property, which should be evident in your commit log.

You don’t specify a language but I’d assume that is the footer definition/html and any scripts or styles invoked by it.

But once you have an answer, it would be wise to document it in confluence somewhere, even if it’s something like “Footer green per request from Director, Mr. Smith” or “Footer color: arbitrary, green to differentiate profile pages. Verify changes with Director.”

How to organize the documentation so that it isn’t difficult to navigate is another difficult question that is more art than science - one which has never been satisfactorily solved anywhere I’ve worked once complexity reaches a certain point, but I leave that exercise to the reader.

That’s where you need people like me who give a fuck about nothing but customer experience and if my employer manages to make a buck, good for them. My employer is generally just a middle man who siphons money out of both our pockets. And makes me fill out a second, useless timesheet while you’re paying me to work.

Jokes on me though because I’ve been out of work for 3 months, so take my suggestion of fuck your employer with a grain of salt.

I miss the days of Anonymous (there was a sub group of the actual hackers whose name I can’t recall and a bunch of wannabes I guess providing them a crowd to lose themselves in) doing justice hacks. Not that they were always on the right side of things, but now everything is state actors trying to bring us all closer to Armageddon.

I didn’t downvote and I actually enjoy the song, but that’s a pretty vapid lyric and I might imagine someone felt it wasn’t a serious suggestion - though not the only one. Perhaps they will chime in and resolve the mystery.

As a general rule, I don’t eat ketchup. My wife and kids love it, but I rarely have it. I normally eat my fries with nothing but some seasoning salt, but thick steak fries demand vinegar.

A good work environment is extremely nice. But there needs to be a pathway to getting the big bucks. That might be a worthwhile conversation to have with your boss - what he needs to see from you to get promoted. Arm yourself with average salary information and ask what it will take for you to get there. And in a small company that might not be totally in your control. Could require a certain amount of growth or whatever. But if you have a great work environment and a great boss I suspect he’ll be open to that conversation.
