They never said that there aren’t trans vegans, they said that they have witnessed a subset of vegans spouting transphobia online with claims from those same vegans that hormone therapies weren’t vegan. They did not make a claim one way or the other about it themself.

  • “Complicated descriptions”? Is there a lamp on one side, or a closet door? Just use that as a frame of reference, I wouldn’t call that a complicated description. Or, if you usually have the same bigs-poon, little-spoon orientation, you can describe which shoulder you’re laying on. But I still think using features of the room is the simplest way. “I’m laying on the closet side.”

This isn’t hating on raw food movement, this is like having a water main break and being advised to boil and/or filter water before drinking it.

A lot of dairy cows are infected with a new virus. Raw/unpasteurized milk has a greater chance if transmission to those consuming it. Recommended to refrain from consuming raw milk until there is no longer such a high rate of infection…

I’m a bit confused by your comment. By workday, do you mean individual for employees, or do you mean “business days”, like when banking and financial transactions are historically run?

4 day work week would be for individual (full time, salaried) employees, to have a 4 day/32 hour workweek instead of a 5 day/40 hour workweek (at the same compensation). Companies like Amazon running 7 days a week just means the business doesn’t close down over weekends or such, but doesn’t generally mean a given employee is working 7 days straight. (Though, it absolutely can result in employees working 7 days straight, depending on pay period, how weeks are broken down for scheduling and payroll, and whether overtime is allowed and/or encouraged.)

  • Other comment made great points on MintOS and PopOS for beginning a Linux journey.

SteamOS isn’t available for a full PC release (that I am aware of), but Bazzite was made to be a full-distro alternative to SteamOS. I haven’t tried it myself yet, but it has good reception from what I see.

Linux Mint is very easy to pick up, though, and I highly recommend for someone coming from Windows. It is fully functional through GUI and has several different flavors for the desktop environment. I’m a fan of KDE, but Cinnemon was also very nice. A version of KDE Plasma is what SteamOS 3.0 uses. I’m not as big of a fan of GNOME, but a lot of people love it as a mor elegant, modern desktop environment.

  • It’s the dual-edged sword of making it more accessible now with a workaround, which disincentives developers from building with actual support in mind.

So Proton is allowing more people to switch to Linux for gaming, which is good! However, instead of putting pressure on developers to make Linux versions of games and software they can just use Proton, so they will continue making only Windows versions, which is bad.

  • Isn’t that more a social issue? Getting drunk and becoming violent isn’t a cause-effect. Someone that becomes abusive after drinking would be abusive without alcohol as well, that’s just a trigger for the behavior.

This is closer to an actual answer, though. It’s easier to remove drinking than to change drinking culture. It just didn’t work the last time they tried to ban alcohol (in the USA), so if behavior around drinking is the issue that is trying to be solved there are probably other ways to go about it.
