Meanwhile, here I am drowning in medical debt, putting off getting procedures done, and trying to decide if I would rather just live with my dental problems, or risk getting kidnapped and murdered in Mexico, because they have so many Americans crossing the border to get dental work that they have not one, but multiple top tier dental towns.
That’s not the advertisement that you think it is. If you think about it for even a moment you’ll realize that it’s because we prioritize the wealthy in the US. Sure a rich person from Canada can come down and get a procedure in a moment’s notice but how many Americans have to leave the US to get the procedure themselves or even worse are never able to get it at all?

They are getting more subtle. Ever notice how actors suddenly rise to the top? Posts about how awesome they are, or how great things they have done are? Right before I left Reddit it was awash with Pedro Pascal and how amazing and humble and down to earth he was, then the new mandalorian came out and after a few weeks, no one gave a fuck about our new god.
I remember I first noticed it years ago when there was this sudden craze for Bradley Cooper, and how he spoke French (really broken, highschool level French). And everyone was amazed at it like speaking a second language made him amazing. It felt really weird and condescending how much praise he was getting for being willing to not only speak to these “lowly foreigners” in “their crazy language”, but also to bother to learn it in the first place. And all I could think was “you’re talking about French right? An optional language that’s taught and the vast majority of high schools across the US?” I mean good on him and great job, but wtf? Pretty much every study agrees, cloth masks are not as good as n95 or surgical masks. They don’t however say that cloth does nothing. Also I have not been able to find even 1 study that looked at multilayer cloth masks. Some even state that multilayer would probably do much better than single layer, but they weren’t even going to test them to see. Pretty much every study is focused on how well masks protect the wearer, but very few focus on how well they protect others from you. The only study that I found that does talk about it, says that while less than n95 masks, that even cloth masks have a significant affect on your spreading of the virus.
Just pretend they are all diesel vehicles. Diesel can last for decades.
