Probably 10 minutes, but by that point they had to double down for the shareholders and as long as everyone copied, they were good.
As someone who needs GPS a lot for work, having it on the large display is very nice. I think the sweet spot is around 7 inches; big enough for maps, but leave enough space for everything else.
The best is when they display the “next step” right on the dash. Too bad my work vehicle doesn’t do that.
I agree, the unified experience is really good.
Its just their prices are highway robbery.
Its seems less on the software side, but more of a hardware reparability and cost issue.
For the iphone 16, going from 128GB to 512GB is $200.
The new Mac mini is asking for $200 for 8GB extra of ram, and $800 for 2TB of (non-removable, encrypted) storage (the base model is only $600). For an extra $1200 you can upgrade the Mac mini to have 32GB RAM, 2TB of Storage and 10GB ethernet.
For reference a good Samsung top of line 2tb nvme drive is about $200. And most 32gb ddr5 kits are about $100. So instead of $300, you pay $1100.
On the software front, they are more stable. If you jumped from a 2014 iPhone to a 2024 iPhone (and iOS), it’d be similar enough you wouldn’t feel you’re on a brand new OS.
Good luck trying that with android (or even windows to some extent).
Happens to me all the time too, I’ll open it via the notification and it just won’t show up.
Or I’ll delete an email about 5 time until its finally gone.
So they are replacing windows mail with Microsoft outlook, which was replaced by windows mail years ago (well not really 100% true, its fun to think of it that way)
Although, to be fair, maintaining two mail clients is pretty stupid.
If they can stop pushing all the separate half baked “new”/"beta/“work” versions of mail and teams, and just update them so everyone’s on the same garbage apps, that would be great.
This really makes you appreciate the bazillion factors that went to making Earth a place where life can thrive.
Really sucks humans are wreaking it, and the only ones who can make a significant impact to reverse course don’t care.
Its a similar problem with Proton for me. Proton doesn’t even let you sync to 3rd party cal app on the free tier.
If you’re going to paywall basic functionality, that just prevents me from trying it for a while and eventually become so tied to it, it’s difficult to break free. Google had the right plan from the get-go.
That lawsuit could hold up in court, and I wouldn’t be mad. Fuck MS
Same, oddly enough the app name and icon didn’t change for me. Still K-9 in app settings too.
Have you looked into GL.inet’s offerings? They use openwrt as their base and build off it.
Many are mesh capable and have a USB for easy network storage.
Yoi jist don’t inderstand modern artucles?
You lost that one buddy. Rule one of spreading misinformation is to completely ignore your opponent.
I remember trying to convince a book sub that “two weeks” is not enough time to stop putting everything behind a spoiler tag/spoiler free titles.
Their argument “don’t come here and you won’t be spoiled”
Meanwhile, Reddit is like hey you want to read this random post from a sub you unsubscribed from last month when the new book came out? its called “thoughts on Wally-Woo’s death”
Perhaps, but for the price of those flat non-rgb or mechanical things they should either shine my shoes or provide some kind of utility, such as a headphone jack.
