User agent. Google wants you to use Chrome. You can spoof the user agent in Firefox to get the same results.

They still have the disclaimer on the app in the pay store. It was added after they were called out.
The fact that they hid it in the first place is disqualifying for a privacy focused product.
You’re talking abut the search bar at the top of the first home screen right? It’s always google but it can be removed.
That should be fixed for sure, it’s annoying. Personally I use firefox anyway so I change it to the firefox search widget which uses your firefox default.
I have a phone with stock android 13, which would be the same experience as a Pixel or other stock android phone.
Here’s the process for me:
Definitely not 30-50 steps on a phone setup by Google. Only real complaint is it can’t be changed from the search field itself.
Their own CEO admits they are required to allow Microsoft tracking in their “privacy” browser due to the contract for search. They use Bing for search, it’s not a myth.
For non-search tracker blocking (eg in our browser), we block most third-party trackers. Unfortunately our Microsoft search syndication agreement prevents us from doing more to Microsoft-owned properties. However, we have been continually pushing and expect to be doing more soon.

EFF isn’t trying to make money off of you or willing to compromise your privacy for profit when necessary.

No, it’s not. memes is the community we are currently in. Subscribing to memes is not “moving”.
Especially as Lemmy has even worse moderator tools than reddit (without custom tools) and the devs don’t give a shit.
Yes, it is. That’s a different planned parenthood.
Planned Parenthood delivers vital reproductive health care, sex education, and information to millions of people worldwide. Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Inc. is a registered 501©(3) nonprofit under EIN 13-1644147. Donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowable under the law.
It’s a registered 501c3. Whatever anybody’s opinions, it’s a legal charity.
Change mail (private) to moderated public notice board (not private). The owner of the public notice board should probably be sued for allowing the content to stay up.
It’s certainly thankless but is it a job if you don’t get paid?
I’m suing them for defamation for saying that
Not actually suing, that would require discovery which would lead to losing and more importantly forcing them to disclose their moderation policies. It’s just an empty threat to sue so nazi sympathizers can point to it and “see they don’t allow nazi’s.”
Sure, but that shouldn’t be surprising. Gentoo isn’t trying to intentionally make the process harder. I haven’t installed it for years but even then it was fairly streamlined and easy for what you’re doing.
if a third party sues a commercial customer for copyright infringement for using Microsoft’s Copilots or the output they generate, we will defend the customer and pay the amount of any adverse judgments or settlements that result from the lawsuit
It doesn’t address lost revenue or any other blow back from having to take down your content but it does say they will pay any judgement/settlement costs.
None of those are valid arguments, especially e-waste. It’s literally the opposite, fairphone is gaslighting.
Yeah, I mostly use bluetooth with my phone but not always. Sometimes it’s not possible and you just need to use an aux cable or wired headset.
A lot of phones are still limited to USB 2.0 speeds anyway and wireless won’t be all that much slower and could potentially be faster.
Not supporting microSD annoys me a lot too. Especially on some phones that still have a dual SIM slot but don’t support microSD on one of them. It’s not even space at that point.
It’s why I’m getting a Zenfone to replace my ~6 year old phone now instead of a Fairphone. It even has a far better IP rating than the fairphone despite the “horrible” water intrusion supposedly caused by 3.5mm jacks.
Fairphones lying BS about why they removed the port convinced me to never buy one of their phones, even if I didn’t care about it.
Yeah, I agree with that. I would never use their browser or other products but their search fits the “at least it’s not google/MS”.
I even think what the CEO is saying is correct here, Google is doing it’s best kill competition.
