Was IPFS considered? I’ve tried it myself but it seems like an unstable product and I’m not sure if it’s living up to its promise…

Sounds like a place for toots 🤔 Signal supports admin only chat rooms. Maybe they’ll be able to support >1k in the future. Dunno if MLS will be able to do that.
What the fuck? I’ve never seen a chatroom that big. Must be absolute chaos…
Or are those “just” distribution channels aka admin only posts?
How big were the telegram chat rooms? Did they ever get that big? The only chatroom I’ve seen with over 1k people is on matrix and it was relatively quiet. If there’s a 1k limit, probably the admin will have to kick inactive users.
I saw a signal group too. I guess this is going to be the aftermath: piracy messenger wars. What do people talk about in piracy chatrooms anyway?
Glowie? Do people call each other glowsticks nowadays?
I don’t believe you want a genuine answer. You’ve already made a decision, so no matter what I say, you won’t agree with it 🤷 There’s no need to continue.
What “ignorance”? The licensing link is added manually. I’ve read it.
Very weird… I’ve had the same clients (Element) for years and haven’t been logged out once. Just out of curiosity, do you switch between the clients (Element on one computer, Schildichat on another)? That could be the problem.
Which client are you using and when was the last time you used it? I haven’t had those issues in about 3 years on Element.
It has a shiny chat interface and that’s all people care about 🤷
On the face of it, I appreciate that it looks funny, but the power dynamics are quite different. If I’m caught pirating, my ass could land in jail. If a company is caught pirating, it’s written off a business expense.
Would you find it as ridiculous if a slave whipped their owner? If the poor stole from the rich? If the weak took power from the powerful?
When will people start using Signal or Matrix for this? Signal supports public, encrypted chat rooms and so does Matrix.
Maybe present what it’s for and why you think it should be used? To me, you just proposed a random tool and just shared a link. Sorry dude, I ain’t reading all that.
If an Arch linux user hasn’t told anybody they use it, are they really using it?
Maybe hosting services in France is not a good idea afterall…
Being a node isn’t an issue. The traffic is encrypted, the destinations are unknown to the nodes themselves, and the traffic does not leave the overlay network (I2P). In TOR, you also have something similar, but the traffic can exit the overlay network but to do so, your node must be an exit node. I2P nodes are internal by default and it’s not that easy to make it an exit node.
You are very safe being a node in I2P.
If there are no logs, there is nothing to give up. There is no law that they have to keep logs as far as I know.
You have to trust that the VPN provider doesn’t store logs. I2P is pretty much trustless besides where the binary comes from, but you can even compile it yourself.
Why do piracy apps still put their source on github? It’s just asking for trouble…
