They are good times indeed… Good times…
They are good times indeed… Good times…
Caught by the Jaffa’s
I have converted over to Linux for a huge portion of my work flow but there is still the 20% I either can’t efficiently replicate or there is just not the software I need.
Where possible I choose to work outside of Microsoft, Google and Apple but to keep a roof over one’s head, I must endure too.
Yes… Melted on anything…
Literally have not been back since I decided to leave before the blackout.
Considering incised to spen hours a day s rolling that place, I haven’t missed it and just moved on. 12years or more I was a regular contributor and viewer and quit cold turkey style :)
It’s good to know I’m not alone… I buy a lot of games and have a huge catalogue over a number of systems. It really is the thing I enjoy most as downtime.
However, I can count on one hand how many title screens I have seen over the last 5 years. I get so far, lose interest, move on. Several months later I will feel like playing again, wipe the save and start over rinse and repeat.
Games that keep calling me back however are Skyrim, Fallout 4 and the Bioshock trilogy.
Gerally it’s decent… I don’t use it anywhere near as much as I used Reddit but I’m not sorry to see the back of that place.
It can be a little buggy sometimes, responses dont post or further posts fail to load. I think the lack of consistency is whynim using it less at the moment but overall, happy chappy :)

The older I get, the more I fucking hate obnoxiously loud cars… It was like a switch that went off in my head when I hit the 35-40yrs old mark.
Pumping base tunes from said vehicle is additional hate.
I have never understood people’s lack of ability to just move on.
Don’t like something, like seriously just move on, don’t like a post / comment, move on rinse and repeat.
You’re not going to like everything and you’re not going to agree with everyone, and you know what… That’s alright, it’s being human !
I don’t have an answer but I’m also quite interested to find out what kind of server specs are we talking to get off the ground? Would love to hear from someone that has recently started their own…
Given the general state of AAA releases this generation, that’s pretty safe money.
They should have by then patched it enough so it plays like it should have on day one and you snag it for half the price.
Patient gaming is the way !
Honestly, I’m really enjoying it and no regrets on making the switch.
Initially took a few moments for the penny to drop with the regards to the different instances etc. But using the Jerboa app is not a million miles away from the app I used to use for Reddit (Boost).
Just incredibly glad to have an alternative.
Boost for Reddit had the login in the exact same place too… Caught me off guard and looking round for quite sometime too :)
Was finding it a little confusing and wasn’t sure if multiples were required.
Thanks for the explanation, much appreciated ;)
Ha ha… Nice ! Image didn’t load without a click, it was risky but a lot better than what I braved myself for :)
I’m done… Was a user and contributor since the very early days. Out of principle l shall not be returning!
You and me both… I have seen that place through its ups and downs. From the narwhal bacon’s at midnight to Jolly Rancher, Zoop and the swamps of drogba.
I finally left my account a few days ago and haven’t been back since. The place is a shell of what it used to be and it’s been really very refreshing have a scout about somewhere else.
Fuck greed… It eventually ruins everything!
Fair enough ! I have been wanting to leave the place for a while so this was kind of the perfect excuse really :)
It’s actually been quite refreshing the last day or so sussing out a new corner of the web…
I’m one of those that nuked my Reddit account too… Was a Boost user for many, many years. Tens of thousands of contributions in the way of posts and comments and this move by them was the straw that broke the camel. The place is a shell of what it was in the early days sadly. Year by year it’s seemingly declined.
I’m done with it and moving on to pastures a new :)
So far, I’m really impressed with Lemmy !
Glad I made the switch back to FireFox a year or two ago. As a Dev, I was entrenched in Chrome and it wasn’t an easy move but with the path Google are currently treading around ad serving, blocking the ad blocks etc. I feel I made the right choice…
