You have an old favorite team-up of Germany and Japan?
You have an old favorite team-up of Germany and Japan?
Yeah, I’m probably being too optimistic.
That might be their outlook on “local” pollution for a while, but you don’t think going from 20 years left to centuries to live might affect their opinions on global climate change?
Might be the only way to get them to give a shit about the environment.
I wonder how much more it would cost to just donate or throw away your printer every time it runs out of ink and buy a new one. Printers are sold at a major loss to lock you into their ink. It might be worth the expense to know your costing these pricks money.
The large U.S. carriers have plans that are, I think, $20-30 a month and you get the newest phone as soon as it comes out, apple or Samsung. They also partner with manufacturers for discounts and trade-in deals, especially when a new model comes out. My last phone was 2 years old but when they offered me the newest one for something like $120 after trade-in (I think that was almost $1100 off, I don’t remember all the details) I upgraded everyone on my plan. I think they did the same thing this year but even with those discounts the pain in the ass of upgrading plus the price, even though it’s low, wasn’t worth the small year over year change. Probably next year or the year after. Assuming similar deals, that makes it $40-$60 a year to get a new phone every 2-3 years.
Edit: You do have to stay with the carrier though. If you leave in less than 24 months you have to pay back a prorated part of the discount. Or at least the part that comes from the carrier, I think you keep the enhanced trade-in from the manufacturer.
I can only speak for myself, but as a Star Wars fan, I’m very aware it’s fantasy. Shit man, it’s got wizards.
Lingua franca dude. I’ve never heard “hit the wall” used outside the man-o-sphere. Maybe not exclusively incel, but incel adjacent at least.
Yeah, they kind of had a point until they busted out the incel-speak at the end.
It seems like it was just yesterday some would bring up some millennial kids bullshit and someone else would respond; “you know they’re all adults now, right?”
Now it’s starting to happen with zoomers?
I don’t know where I was going with this. I’m going to go take my Geritol now.
Even in Maine and Nebraska, two of their electrical votes are statewide just some are allocated to CDs. A state’s electrical votes are determined by their total number of senators and representatives. The ones that correspond to the two senators are statewide.
I don’t have any books anymore. I took them all, several hundred, to Goodwill a few years ago. I hadn’t bought any in years because I’ve buying ebooks exclusively for a long time now. I have about 700 in my reader and almost any Internet connected device I have access to. My reading list is too long to reread anything, I thought others might get some use out of them.
Not having books in the house doesn’t mean what it once did.
Yeah, this is easy. Find a house, airplane, or mega yacht that costs just over 100mm, offer 100mm cash today, then wait 29-30 days for your billion.
Just make sure you finish on the Bach. Never finish on Debussy.
The planet is great. It’s the fucking occupants that are a problem.
Bilbo is rich and Frodo is a nepobaby.
While they do seem to be pro Ukraine, that’s not their raison d’être.
They’re just a national defense/defense industry shitpost community with what seems like a genuine appreciation for cool vehicles, aircraft, and other equipment, even if most of them would prefer that equipment was never used for its intended purpose. Credible defense was for serious military posting on Reddit, but I don’t think there is a lemmy community for that.
Right now a lot of that equipment is being used in Ukraine so a lot of posts reference it.
Edit: Also, Russia is currently providing a lot of fodder for shitposts.
I suppose you could bake a brownie sphere in microgravity. That might be hard to get the center cooked without burning the surface though. Maybe a metal ball as a pan that you could coat with batter.
The thing these arguments never take into account is a fate worse than death.
That’s the point you’re missing.
Think about why someone would prefer the much more likely bear mauling to the much less likely worst case scenario with a man. If you can wrap your head around that, then consider why these women had that answer ready to go with very little thought. Considerations of a fate worse than death is something that women live with from the age where they first notice grown men noticing them. That averages 11 or 12 years old by the way. Maybe younger if their parents were a little more candid with them than the generic “stranger danger.”
This would make a good “What if?” for XKCD. In a frictionless vacuum with two spheres the mass of the earth and a bowling ball how far away do they need to start before the force acting on the earth sized mass contributes 1 Planck length to their closure before they come together? And the same question for a sphere with the mass of a feather.
