Humans are resistors. We just need to create a chain of people, and the more we add the more resistance the circuit will have too.

With a name like @redditcunts, this one is probably a troll. Just block them.
Honestly, for some software this is the answer. The other one with hackers is that it’s usually easier to trick an employee into giving you the master password than finding an obscure exploit in their codebase, though it does still happen.
In most cases the creator doesn’t hold the IP anymore, they signed it over to the platform. I don’t think it’s cool to pirate indy games when you can afford them because in that case the money is genuinely being withheld from the content creator, but in a lot of cases depriving Amazon of $5 for a TV show isn’t going to impact anyone.
Agreed. I’m under no delusions, when I pirate media I’m stealing. I personally don’t believe it’s immoral to steal from super corporations, especially considering how much they steal from us, but some people disagree and with these types of moral arguments there isn’t a clear right answer. Even still, I think the majority of pirates are willing to pay for software or media when the service is priced well and more convenient than piracy.
I think it’s really cool here. The people have been mostly friendly, the communities I’m following are decently active, and new features are being added every day. I honestly have very few complaints.
They may never find out.
Nah, they’ll ban leftism and trans people either way. It’s not like the Weimar Republic banned Nazism, and yet Hitler still banned every other political party and did the Holocaust. Fascist ideologies must be strangled in the cradle, so punching Nazis is fine.
The instances vary. Some are currently federating better than others, the servers that are currently in higher loads are dropping activity more often and not syncing as well.
Here’s the source for all those interested: https://www.reddit.com/r/archlinux/comments/aa4tga/yay_syu_permission_denied/. I don’t want to draw people back to Reddit, but I think it’s important to credit those I got the information from.
Yes, here’s a link for you: https://lemmy.world/post/872278. /c/boostforlemmy@lemmy.world is the new community for it.
Because the goal was to ban third party apps and they don’t want people trying to dodge it. u/spez seems to be personally offended by their existence and wants them gone.
That’s a shame. I hope it causes more services to be cool with their IP addresses, but it’s unfortunate for toerrenting and running local forwarded servers.
Apparently the reason for that is because malicious actors were port forwarding using Mullvad. They’re now disabling that feature, so it’s possible they will be whitelisted again in the future.
Yeah, given enough time sometimes one of the standards will win and kill the others, it kinda just depends (in part on luck)
Indeed, apparently there are some American-based VPN companies that piggyback off their servers, so I figured why not use the service directly. Their apps are also full of features, so I really think the €5 a month price is worth it.
Yeah, I think this is done to provide the illusion of choice. The rate limits are high enough to allow personal emails through, but for any mass emails or corporate emails this forces you to use Google. Unfortunately a standard corporate strategy, it’s why corporate office suites are so generic and tend to be from one of the big companies.
I’ll be honest, I own so many games from the last sale that I’m probably going to sit this one out. I have something like 140 games, and of those the majority are on my backlog, so I won’t be running out any time soon.
Indeed, the swipe actions are really nice. Wefwef and Thunder also have them, but they from what I can tell don’t have a page for my saved posts/comments, so right now Connect’s my favorite.
What if you get into an accident?
